Service Description

Supervising others can be a tough job. Between managing your own time and projects, helping your team members solve problems and complete tasks, and helping other supervisors, it is difficult to know how to handle so much at once. Yet 60% of all supervisors and managers report they never received any training when they assumed their first supervisor role. This course teaches supervisors their true purpose as supervisors and how to become more effective when delivering results, and provides supervisors with greater confidence when managing their people and building team cohesion. Course Outline ​ March 8, 2022 Day 1: Self Management: understanding the purpose of a supervisor, staying focused on the most important tasks, prioritizing effort, time and energy.  Time management exercises and video examples. ​ March 22, 2022 Day 2: Defining and Assigning Work: defining the work to be done, defining standards of performance for the job, applying the correct management style to the situation and using a skills matrix.  Includes video examples of over / under supervision. ​ April 5, 2022 Day 3: Giving Feedback and Evaluating Results: managing performance against performance standards, coaching and counseling, disciplining and terminating employees, assessment tools, best practices and HR employment law summary overview.  Includes video examples of effective and ineffective terminations. ​ April 19, 2022 Day 4: Acquiring Top Talent: recruiting, interviewing, screening, selecting and on-boarding employees into first 90 days.  Includes videos covering unconscious bias and effective and ineffective interview examples. ​ May 3, 2022 Day 5: Developing Others: coaching and mentoring, numerous talent assessment and development tools and techniques using the G.R.O.W. method, multiple hands-on exercises. ​ May 17, 2022 Day 6: Developing and Managing Teams: how to lead at each team development stage, managing remote teams, decision-making models, team cohesion tools, videos covering team trust and Covey's four disciplines of execution. ​​ All classes will be held virtually 8:30 am-12:30 pm via Zoom Meets platform. Price includes: Six half-day, interactive virtual instructor-led classes, each class provides robust class materials, workbooks and supervisory tools, multiple psychological and self assessments and Harvard Business Review journal articles, relevant to the day.
