Supervising others can be a tough job. Between managing your own time and projects, helping your team members solve problems and complete tasks, and helping other supervisors, it is difficult to know how to handle so much at once. This course teaches supervisors their true purpose and how to become more effective when delivering results, developing and managing their people and building team cohesion. Course Outline August 27, 2021 Day 1: Self Management (understanding the purpose of a supervisor, staying focused on the most important tasks, prioritizing effort, time and energy. Time management exercises, video examples and homework) September 10, 2021 Day 2: Defining and Assigning Work (defining the work to be done, defining standards of performance by employee level, applying the correct management style to the situation and using a skills matrix. Includes video covering the disciplines of execution) September 24, 2021 Day 3: Giving Feedback and Evaluating Results (managing performance against performance standards, coaching and counseling, disciplining and terminating employees, assessment tools, best practices and HR employment law summary overview. Includes video examples of over / under supervision and effective and ineffective termination examples) October 8, 2021 Day 4: Acquiring Top Talent (recruiting, interviewing, screening, selecting and on-boarding employees into first 90 days. Includes videos covering unconscious bias and effective and ineffective interview examples) October 22, 2021 Day 5: Developing Others (coaching and mentoring, numerous talent assessment and development tools and techniques using the G.R.O.W. method, multiple hands-on exercises) November 5, 2021 Day 6: Developing and Managing Teams (how to lead at each team development stage, managing remote teams, decision making models, team cohesion tools, video covering team trust) All classes will be held virtually 8:30 am-12:30 pm via Zoom Meets platform. Price includes: Six half-day, interactive virtual instructor-led classes, each class provides robust class materials, workbooks and supervisory tools, multiple psychological and self assessments and Harvard Business Review journal articles, relevant to the day.
